Well, once you buy the ink, paper assortment, envelopes, use a photo you've taken and uploaded, that's a lot of work. I love getting homemade cards. I also love giving them. A lot of thinking goes into each one to fit the person. A friend just had a birthday - on Halloween. I'd have to look forever to find a card that said Happy B'day AND Happy Halloween.
From the heart does not mean cheapo - quite the opposite.

depends on the card. i make cards and write poems for the person the card is intended. the poems i can do quickly but the card can take up to 2 hours cos i want it to be just right. as far as i know i have never made 2 cards the same.
computer cards are a different matter though. i could spend 10 minutes at the computer and 'make' 10 cards - all identical apart from the name inside. personally i don't like them so i choose not to make them. my friend makes them though and we all get them for birthday and Christmas. it's the thought that counts.

Doesn't matter to me. A homemade card show a real thoughtfulness but if your like my husband than buying a store bought card would show thoughtfulness too because my husband isn't the type to go in a look at a couple and just grab one, he spends like an hour picking out the perfect card - that's why I won't go shopping with him when it comes to buying a card. :)

Depends on the card. If it's clear that a fair amount of time was put into the graphics and text, it would pretty cool. However, if they just pasted a picture and had a really lousy resolution when they printed it, it would kinda suck. Personally, I like to break out the construction paper when I make cards, and do it all by hand.

I depends whether it was one that took a lot of effort to make or one that was just printed and sent. I have recieved "home made cards" that have been very beautiful . I hate e-mail cards cos they are a cop out and takes no thought to do or send

A card off the rack takes 3 minutes and a couple of dollars.
A card made by a person takes time, effort and creativity.
My time is more valuable to me than a 'couple of dollars'. If I make you a card, it comes from my heart.....not a generic greeting.
People who get a purchased card from me are not very happy. They wonder why I'm mad at them.

I guess that depends on the card, if its a template that they've printed onto paer and just folded in half then I guess I'd be offended! But I make most of my cards for people, handmade, on card and personalised, and people always say its a nice touch - shows you've thought about them.

Depends if they draw their own art and use hand crafted paper. But if you know that person well and you know they're 'cheapo' then it should be accepted with all the sincerity that was intended. Who knows, they may become famous and you threw that 'card' away.
