Not weird at all! I learned classical technique on an acoustic, you can definately learn a rock style on a classical. The sound might not be as "rock"-like, but its still all good :)
If it really bothers you, try to find yourself a cheap acoustic or electric, but don't get rid of the classical guitar. :)
Good luck!

its not weird. Acoustic guiatrs sound and are cool. Although some may thing real rock is all about heavy guitar, i listen to heavy metal and they sometimes have acoutis guitar or even piano. You shouldn't be ashamed especially if you cant afford an electirc. good luck playing

If you enjoy playing it, then it's not weird, IMHO.
You can play just about anything with a classical guitar - jazz, folk, country, rock.
You go girl!

no i dont think its weird and/or embarrassing, and no you shouldnt get a new one if you have one you like. it doesnt really matter what kind of guitar you have, you can play w/e makes you happy. only get a new one if you are not satisfied with the one youve got.
