I'm a week past my due date and I've been cramping all day. When I sat down to pee a few minutes ago (and hadn't actually pushed to pee yet), some liquid came out! I know it wasn't pee. Is my water breaking?? What do I do?

First stay calm...If you can wipe yourself and as weird as this might sound you can smell the discharge. If it is your water it will have a distinct odor ammonia type odor.. It might have just been the pressure of the enlarge uterus on your bladder that caused a trickle of urine to escape without you having to actually push... Good Luck with the little miracle.

I know my water broke when I laid down and the water just starting gushing from me. It just wouldn't stop! On a different note a friend of mine leaked for a whole week before she decided to go to the doctor and found she had been leaking amniotic fluid. I would get thee to the doctor if it worsens but until then I would just call the hospital and ask what to do... more than likely seeing as how it is a week past due, it is broken water. Calm down and call the E.R. or the hospital. The baby will come hours from now... Congrats!

It could be if I was you I would go straight to the hospital. I never had the luck of feeling what it feels like to have your water break naturally, but it sounds like yours did. The cramping could also be a tell tell sign that you are in labor. Good luck.

Call your doctor. I've never actually seen the water breaking because I was induced for all three of my kids and they broke my water while I was laying down but I think it's kind of thick and pinkish.

Your obgyn should have like an emergency number on the card for such questions. Good luck.

It sounds as if your water DID break -- you need to call your doctor -- he/she may tell you to go right to the hospital even if you are not having contractions -- however, what you call "cramping" is probably contractions -- you should go to the hospital at any rate to see if you are dilating -- CALL YOUR DOCTOR!! and congratulations on the arrival of your little one ;-)

Any answer here would be pure speculation. Call you Ob-Gyn and follow his instructions before heading to the hospital. If you're alone, call someone to be with you until you actually deliver. Good luck. At least you're keeping your head on your shoulders.

difficult to tell, but they suggest folding a sanitary towel placing it between ure legs and if the fluid is clear and not smeely then it is probably ure waters, i believe u either get a GUSH, or a longer trickle, but i am not sure as my first has another 10 days before they are due, ring the midwife,
good luck to you

Are you still feeling a trickle down your leg, or wet? Some may still continue to leak out. It may have been your water, but go to the doctor to check. Better safe than sorry.
