enter router setup, 192.168.1.1
rourer user name admin, password admin, or whatever you may of already set up.
go to wireless network options
your looking for security or WEP security
set it up with a password, when you are finished slick save , then you will get kicked off because you dont have the password set up on your machine yet.
then on your computer go to your wireless network connections and set the same key in your profile there, and thats it, connect.

People are mistaking the reasoning behind the key. In an effort to keep people from jumping into their service by simply pulling over to the curb in front of their house, they're hunting for key devices that will keep them out. They're not getting into your network or your computers in the network. You have routers, service providers and Firewalls that keep that from happening. You can turn your machines off and people can still jump the service. Piracy? Yeah, but you're not a victum. Larry RadioShack 01-9590
