I have been informed of the hack because a friend of mine informed a status message apperaing as "hacked" next to my ID. What should I do? Thanks to all answerers.

Hey just in case you dont get hacked on anything else heres my advice for getting spyware, and viruses off your computer
The first one is called LAVASOFT anti spyware, this has been out for awile, and its the most top rated anti spyware applications on the market right now

Hi, Your Yahoo Email Account has been hacked, this happened to me recently and from what I have seen on yahoo answers it has happened to hell of alot of other people too. ANYWAY HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:- You need to contact Yahoo by Email This can be done by clicking on Help at the Bottom Right Hand side of the Yahoo page. Then Click on Mail, then contact Customer Service, bottom right hand of page. Make sure you fill in brief details of what has happened Fill in Category and Sub Category, then for more help Click on Email a Support Agent. There will be a form to fill in. Then yahoo will contact you at another email address you need to give them. They will ask you for another email address to contact you, NOT a yahoo email one. You need to create a new one either Google, Hotmail, etc. You will be asked to create a new password. Good Luck

If your account and/or your screen name was truely hacked, the very first thing that they did was to change tha password on the account to keep you from getting it back. As much as we all hate, that name is no doubt a thing of the past. Lary RadioShack 01-9590
