First of all, don't get your birth control information from guys. They lie.
They aren't many natural birth control methods and they don't really work anyway. The temperature method listed above is one. Another is to calculate when you will ovulate (about 7 days after your period ends) and do not have sex for 3 days before and after ovulation. However, there are about 1000 things that will change the day you ovulate plus your cycle doesn't really stabilize until your mid 20s so I would not use this method.
Let me just say, pulling out does NOT work. Period. (Men lie.)
If you're ready to have sex, you're ready to go the doctor and get real birth control that works.
And condoms are a must even if you are on a good birth control. Did you know that 80% of women will have HPV at age 50? Aim to be in that 20%.
Good luck!! :)

Get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler--you can find good deals on used copies on ebay. The book talks about Natural Family Planning and gives exact insturctions. Basically, it involves checking your temp each morning and checking your cervical fluid.

I also second the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." My husband and I used Natural Family Planning for three years to avoid conception, and then to conceive our baby when we were ready :)

Just don't do it and you won't have to worry about it. If you must, outside of marriage, you must still use a condom to prevent transmitting or contacting sexually transmitted diseases.
