You need to have a Motorola V3i (RAZR with iTunes installed).... if it's just a normal RAZR (meaning you've had it for more than six months or you only paid like $150 for it with a contract), you are unable to side-load music onto that phone because the software is not installed, nor can it be installed, on that phone.
IF you have a V3i, you do need the data cable to go along with the phone to sideload the music. You also need the software and the compatible headset so that you can listen to your music. When you purchase the V3i from Cingular directly, the phone will come with all of that. If your phone is a V3i and you purchased it from someone or somewhere else, you will need to come into the store to purchase the kit. The kit is only $39.99 for the headset, software, and cable.
You will know whether or not your phone is a V3i becuse it comes in either a dark gray/titanium (shiny looking) color or a dark red, like red wine color. Those are the only V3is we sell, and the regular RAZRS come in a powder-coated black, silver, or bubblegum pink. Also, the V3i has a dedicated iTunes button on either the left or right softkey on the phone's keypad. I'm too lazy to get up right now and walk across the sales floor to look for you. It is there, though.
Sorry if this is not the answer you want. It is the right answer though.

You'll need a USB cable made just for the Razr and the software to install onto your computer.

I artwork for Cingular, in my opinion the Samsung A707 "SYNC" and the LG CU500 are both best for what your searching for. The Cool ingredient about the SYNC is for you to use it with napster and Yahoo song! i in my opinion use the LG CU500 and that i love it! that is compared to any of the different LG handsets that we've carried, it has tremendous tremendous valuable factors and has tremendous call quantity. enable me recognize if u have any extra questions about them!
