Sounds like the beginning of gestational diabetes.

I am 8 months pregnant and have the same 'problem'. It's great to drink a lot of liquid but it can be a sign of gestational diabetes. Keep a track of how much you drink in a day and speak with your health care provider about it next time you have an appointment. Best wishes for an easy pregnancy and a healthy baby!

I agree with the first poster: you should tell your OB so he/she can rule out any underlying disorders like, say, diabetes.

But I can tell you that I didn't have any complications like that during either pregnancy, and I was incredibly thirsty all the time. My husband was refilling our giant water cooler once a week--sometimes even more often. And it was really only me drinking it. It was crazy.

But it's good for you. Drinking water helps keep your system retain less water, so you aren't as puffy. And your blood volume doubles pretty soon, so you need the extra fluids.

Normal to be thirsty but make sure that you talk to your dr at the next appt to make sure that you don't have a "medical" problem to explain thirstiness.

My Mother was diabetic and she was always thirsty. I have known women who were diabetic only when they were pregnant. You should speak with your doctor about this.
