At over 50, sure, I can't jump as high, run as fast or do many things that came so easily when I was in my 20's. But to have the experience of tragedy, joys, and all the things that a life well lived contributes to my life today more than makes up for it.
I think it is better to enjoy all of the memories, good and bad, than to anticipate them. And use those experiences as a foundation for wisdom.
So what do you folks think?

I wish I knew what I know now, back when I was 20, but I would rather know and have my experiences than to be 20 again. So yes...there are many ways that it is better to be older (wiser) than younger.

I'm over 50, and although I'm in good health (ride a bicycle several miles often) you can have old age!
I want to be young again. This getting old routine is for the birds!
You assumed a 'life well lived'. I pretty much had that, but think I could do much better the second time around.
Maybe not.

I absolutely agree with you. I'm 34 and I feel like I've just started to live my life. My childhood and teen years were a blur of bad memories. My twenties was a time of experimenting, trying to figure out who I was, and I can't wait to experience life in my forties and fifties. I never want to go back.

That's a good question. I'm sort of in the middle I guess. (I'm 36). I like having money and being able to buy a new guitar and to eat out whenever I want. I like having my own house and being able to paint my rooms what color I want or being able to have a dog because a have a good place for him to play outside. I like having a job where I do something important and people really listen to what I have to say.
But I miss being able to major in college in anything I want to and to be able to do with the rest of my life whatever I want. I miss being able to save up my money and to go to Europe for a year working as a bartender and traveling and not worrying about mortgage payments, my 401(k), or if I have health insurance. And the genuine thrill of doing all sorts of things for the first time, in a fun way. Not like my first "complete physical" when I started to be afraid of what the doctor might say when he came back with the results of my blood work.
I like knowing what I know about things in all kinds of ways. Wisdom is fun. But, I'm not nearly as excited about my prospects for the rest of my life as used to be. (Maybe I was a bit too optimistic.) But then again, I'm not nearly as afraid of things as I used to be. I used to get so afraid of failing an exam in college that I couldn't sleep the night before. Plus It's also kind of nice to look back on the things you have accomplished, things that can't be taken away from you.

Age doesn't matter..What matters is the experience. A 16 year old might be wiser than someone who is 60....A 60 year old more outgoing than a 16 year old..
Age matters not, experience matters more, but faith in God matters most.

i think it depends on what you think. If you think being old is good its good for you or being younger is better to you then it is to you. i guess..
