Buying mobile phones in China has a lot of risks. Brand names are usually fakes or refurbished that will be presented as new, quality is usually poor. And if you turn to recognized Chinese manufacturers, it may be difficult to sell unknown brands in the UK market.
As for legitimate and original brand name phones (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung etc.) adding the costs of shipment will not make it cheaper if you import from China.
Those brands also have their distribution networks in China and wholesalers are not legally authorized to re-export. Furthermore, those phones are for the Chinese market, with Chinese language being the standard, although English is also optional. BUt most of the time you won't find the other European languages.
We are help several IT and Communication firms worldwide to purchase from China, and we never recommend to purchase mobile phones from here. It doesn't make a business sense.
If you want to take the risk though, you may search b2b marketplaces: alibaba.com, ec21.com, ebigchina.com, made-in-china.com etc. Most of the suppliers of mobile phones are based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
Hope it helps.
