Last week I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mentioned the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and was bored so I started entering names of people I know. That is when I discovered that my friends fiance was convicted of assualt in 2001. I am sure she doesn't know about this. I have to tell her because I fear for her safety but I don't know how to approach the subject without her hating me. We have been friends since the 3rd grade and this news is going to devestate her.

Any insight on how to handle this situation would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wow, you posted this question FIVE times in 1 minute, you really ARE obsessed.

I bet she'll be just as surprised to know you're running background checks on her man as she will to know his background.

you should mind your own business. If he wants to tell her, that's up to him. Sometimes people change. 2001 was a long time ago and you should let the past remain in the past. Also, you don't know the circumstances behind the conviction. If you really feel the need, talk to him and let him know that you know.

My sister was with a guy and his ex came and beat up my sister so he stopped her by holding his ex down and he was charged for assault.

What i am saying is it does not always mean he meant to do these things today some woman when they don't get their way claim things that are not true. Even i was charged for assault on my ex and i was arrested and later she finally came out after her mom got it out of her that i never hit her and it was dropped.

All i have to add after looking at the site is YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT are you sure you don't like this guy and are wanting to cause trouble who would randomly pay to look up records. There is more to this!

Just because her fiance has a assault charge doesn't mean anything. Yes, it is wrong to hit someone, but perhaps he was defending himself or perhaps he saw someone getting hurt and felt the need to rescue them. Perhaps your friend already knows about his criminal past and wishes not to discuss it with anyone because it is a personal thing.

Its really not your place to tell your friend. Obviously you care about her well being and I completely understand your position. But your not getting his side of the story. If you really need to clear your mind, talk to him just like you told us.

Show her the web site and then just for fun put in names again. Put in his name and let her make her own conclusion. You do not want your friendship to end so do it gently.

maybe you can tell her about the site and somehow get her to look up her fiance's name herself. or break it to her gently, as a friend.
