Depends on the job.

A Graphic Design student does not learn the physics required to design a building.

An Architecture student does not receive the artistic training to be a graphic designer.

Both are right - however, they are not interchangeable professions.

From my personal view a graphic designer has more fun ; but a architect makes more money. The choice is up to you! If you are planning to go to school (college or university) you can start as an architect and change you major to a graphic artist if it is right for you.

Which one is right? It depends on what the context is. Are they designing a building or something printed?
