Those are the same fish. Just slightly different genetically. It's just a difference in the tails.
These are both fighting fish, they will fight each other to the death if given the chance, but often won't since one will give in to the stronger male.
They'll live together in a large tank with tons of plants and cover.
I hope you aren't planning on doing so, because that would be cruel to just have them fight.

Betta fish have a few different speices. The most common and the one found in pet stores and breed for shows and kept as pets is Betta Splendens.
First all all betta fish are fish who will fight. They are commonly known as fighting fish. Every betta fish of every species will fight.
Yes and no. They will fight if placed in a small tank however if you have an large tank (at least 55 gallons) you can keep siblings that have been raised together in it with other fish. If it is only the betta fish in a tank even as large as that there will be fights.
Crowntail bettas are bettas. crowntail is simply referring to the type of fins a betta has. Bettas can be plakats, halfmoons, veils, etc and they are still betta fish. Crowntails belong to the species betta splendens.
There is no such thing as beta fish. It is spelled with two Ts and when referred to as betta fish it can mean any color, tail type, size, gender.
So I guess you could say crowntails are a subdivision of the species. Like a brown dog is still a dog but it is brown. A crowntail betta is still a betta but it has crowtail fins.
I hope this helps...Good Luck!

They are the same type of fish. Betta always fight each other. In large tanks with lots of cover they might be able to live together, but it depends on the temperament of the betta. In general males can't live with any betta male or female. Females can often live together, but generally only in large tanks with 3+ females.
PS- Crowntails came fairly recently from Thai fighting stock and tend to be more aggressive as a result.

Yes, they are both fighting fish. Another name for bettas are siamese fighting fish. so yes. If you place 2 (or more) male bettas in a tank they will fight till they kill each other. If you place 1 female and 1 male betta, they will probably breed, then they will fight and kill each other. They are the same type of fish, they are just just have different characteristics.

Betta fish come with many different tail types and the crowntail is just one of them. So what applies to a betta fish will apply to a crowntail betta fish since they are the same kind of fish. Here are a couple links with pics,

Any type of Betta will fight each other weather it's a male or female, it doesn't matter. And yes, they will fight but not to the death, because one will always back down. They will learn to stay away from one another. And just because you think that it's lonely and it's needs a girlfriend the female is more likely to attack him, just because she can.
