They're called tables - honestly! They have a dual purpose. Firstly, they stop the lid of the box from touching the pizza, and secondly they keep the slices together in the box to stop them sliding around.

It's to keep the box lid off of the pizza. Know how awful it is when you order from somewhere that doesn't use them & you lift the lid only to find cheese stuck to the lid? That's the purpose of the plastic disc.

That liitle white thing in the middle of the pizza is a coffee table to eat the pizza on. It will also hold your drink if its a real small pizza. I thought everybody knew that. :)

Its so the top of the box won't stick to the cheese. I think the pizza would be just fine without it.
