My little boy had an eye exam and his prescription reads like this:
OD: +2.75 -1.5 180
OS: +2.75 -1.5 180
What does this mean? I've gone online and researched it, but what keeps throwing me is the plus sign before the first number, since he can't see things that are far away. The dr. said that he'll be corrected to 20/40. What is he seeing now, based on this prescription?

To answer the person who asked why I didn't ask my dr. or go to an eyeglass place. Wow what a great suggestion. Why don't I? Because it's Saturday and I'm home. I DID ask the dr. what it meant and he said that he's farsighted. However, when I research at home, I find that farsighed prescriptions have a - sign in front of the first number and his doesn't. Why bother answering a question if you're not going to answer it??? For the 2 points?
