This seems to be a recurring theme in peoples minds. How the heck did this start? Wasn't there a newspaper overseas or something that actually published accounts of this? Can anyone point to actual examples of evidence ? Does anyone have any internet links ?

It is an irrefutable fact that many Jews worked in the World Trade Center, yet only one Jew is recorded as having died.

Here's the article from a legit business news website:

Anyone who read "1984" can understand that the Government has the ability to create "faux" stories to undermine the "official" story. Also remember that any Jewish death replays the Holocaust, replays anti-Semitism (this time by "Arabs"). Ask the State Department about why there are 25,000 Mossad agents (aka sayanim) working in the US.

Mossad has the ability to pass themselves off as Arabs due to dark complexions. As with any crime, always look to who benefits - 9/11 was an Urban Renewal Project because the original buildings were constructed with asbestos. More would have been spent to renovate the buildings; so, the "decision" was made to implode them in a very dramatic way. Insurance would "pay" for the rebuilding project.

No...just a rumor by an antisemitic...many Jewish people died in 9/11.

I knew immediately who was behind 9/11 but surprisingly there were many around me at work that never heard of Osama Bin Laden. Even more surprising was I worked in the military.

Ignorance is where rumors begin.

It seems like it may have started with Syria's government-owned newspaper, Al Thawra, a few days after 9/11. I had never heard about this.

Here's what the US government says about that rumor:

I have not heard this particular rumor, but I have an idea as to how it started - some anti-Semitic idiot decided to confuse Islamic extremists with Jewish American citizens, and see how the world reacts.

Wikipedia explains the concept, and it is also seen in the Loose Change video.

What a hateful rumor to start. This kind of ugliness is shameful.

I did hear of this rumour after the attacks, but was unable to find out anything.
