I don't agree with you 100%, I agree with you 1000%.
I think its great that aprons are making a comeback. A vintage or retro-style apron looks feminine. In fact there are a lot of feminine aprons. Combine that with a feminine styled dress and that just makes it twice as better.
I also think the apron accentuates the curves on the woman. A dress will already do this, so again it's twice as better.

What's so cute about a dress with an apron? I never really thought about it when I see a dress with an apron I think of a sweet old grandma but that isn't very cute.
I think a pink piglet would be cuter.
