Amerigo Vespucci was a man, not many men so your question is worded wrongly. Vespucci was marooned and lost down on the gulf coast but was able to navigate his way back to civilization using techniques of that day and time I don't think he created anything new..After all he was a ships navigator. People once thought that America got its name from Amerigo.
