Im looking into buying a new pc, i need it for movies and the usual internet stuff, no gaming. Which pc do you recomend along the 500 to 700$$ range, a less expensive would be nice... Which brands are great and which ones should I stay away from?? This is what i've liked so far...........

Gateway Desktop with AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Processor 3800+ 1G Ram and 250G HD=$579.99........................

Compaq Presario Desktop with AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3800+ 1GRam + 250G HD =$524.99..................

Hewlett-Packard - Pavilion 4600+ AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor 2G Ram 250GB=$734.99...............

Any suggestions??

I would stay away from Compaq. Too many limitations on what you can do with it, in terms of upgrades, if you ever wanted to. HP is the nicest one, when I bought mine it was a refurbished unit years ago and it's still going strong. Gateway is also nice, I would say a good value for the money, as you will have limited use for the PC you will be happy with them and save some money over HP.

I forgot about Dell, still not as good as HP, but better the Gateway and just as cheap if not cheaper.

Gateway ,Been Useing them for over 10 years , Nothing better

Out of the three buy the HP, if you must (you can build a nice PC for $730)

Why don't you build your own. A, You'll learn something. B, you can get exactly what you want.

If you will not be gaming pentium is the best for word processing.
