There is nothing wrong with eating peanuts when you're pregnant. Just like theres nothing wrong eating milk products or strawberries and bananas.

Your baby cannot get allergies that way. The nutrients he gets are already processed by your body, theres no change for allergies because his own system does not have to break down the foods, or process them in any way.

In fact, nuts are an excellent source of protien when your pregnant, something that is vitally important for how far along you are. Most doctors will recomend carrying around some form of nut, so you have a healthy snack readily available.

Or atleast thats what i was told.

I just googled it and all the sites said the data is not conclusive, althoght some studies suggest that mothers avoid peanuts if peanut allergies run in both sides of the family.

Well I've had three kids and I've never had a problem or have heard of peanuts being harmful to you or the baby unless you have allergies to them. I know that you shouldn't eat shellfish and things like oysters because of the bacteria in them but never anything about peanuts.

When in doubt, ask your obgyn...that's what they're there for. I think they have an emergency number (at least mine did) for cases where you're freaking out because of spotting (but that's normal too). Has your fella had a baby before with someone else? If not then no disrespect but you shouldn't take advice from an inexperienced (in pregnancies) man about your pregnancy. Good luck and don't feel bad because you didn't do anything wrong.

You have recieved some false information. It is pefectly safe and healthy to eat nuts and nut products, as long as you are not allergic to them. I am assuming that you are not, since you are the one who chose to eat them.

It's actually a pretty smart choice for a snack. You should have been eating more all along. It's good for you and the baby. It will have no effect of your baby, or any possible allergies that it may have. If your child developes an alergy to peanuts, then don't blame yourself, it has nothing to do with what you ate while you were pregnant.

I was pregnant over xmas 2004 & ate buckets full of peanuts, cashew nuts, mixed fruit & nuts etc. as well as hundreds of Snickers! I think you are only not supposed to eat peanuts if there are any close relatives with a peanut allergy.
When I was pregnant with my second baby I ate a big wedge of Stilton without thinking and came to no harm!

Don't worry, the occassional few nuts won't do much harm, there are women out there who crave peanut butter on on a daily basis during pregnancy.
Don't worry, you and your baby will be fine, but if you are this concerned, avoid nuts from now on- whilst they are unlikely to really do a lot of damage, they are just going to make you too stressed, and you definately don't need extra stress.

Relax. Your baby is okay!

There was a very small study that suggested it was linked to peanut allergies, as was eating peanuts while breastfeeding. However it was small and I believe not repeated.

Also peanuts are not real nuts, so there is not problem eating cashew nuts.

I wouldn't worry. (I wouldn't eat peanut butter sandwiches two meals a day every day, but I had the odd one while pregnant)

It is ok-I am 25 weeks pregnant and I eat peanuts alot and also peanut butter. If you have a peanut allergy or the babies father does you are supposed to obviously not eat them during pregnancy because then your baby has a higher risk of getting the allergy. But as long as you dont-eat away! They provide some good nutrients for your baby.

You will be fine.

The UK government recommends that certain women avoid eating peanuts while they are pregnant. You are advised to avoid peanuts if you, your baby's father, or one of your previous children has had an allergic reaction to something. Allergic conditions include:

• eczema

• asthma

• hayfever

• any allergic response (rashes, itches, bumps) if you've eaten food such as strawberries, shellfish, or peanuts.

It is only peanuts that should be avoided by some women - other nuts, such as brazil, hazelnuts, walnuts or cashew nuts are perfectly safe.

you shouldn't worry, just keep an eye out if you start to feel unwell, its just incase the baby gets a reaction. but if you feel fine then nothin will happen. i ate some peanuts through my pregnany and she came out great. i had a craving for peanut butter but only got a tea spoonful a week, you have to watch with dairy like cheeses you cant have blue cheese or soft but dairylea and philladilphia are ok. good luck with your pregnancy
