Does this happen at age 20-40-60-80 or do some have to be well over one 100. I know how I feel about this situation and I am looking for intelligent answers only. What I am speaking about is when do they take responsibility for their own actions and stop blameing their parents for all their problems? I have noticed some who acted mature at age 15. Why are some others so lacking in grown up skills?

The process of becoming an adult is all mental.

A quote from alden knowlan explains it perfectly:

"The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise”

Physical maturation commences at ages 18 to 21.
Intellectual maturity develops from ages 15 to 17 as an average. Many act silly or childlike because they were not required to "grow up" or because they haven't applied serious thought to the meaning and purpose of life.
Short answer: Circumstance or Choice or Both.

It varies from child to child. If their parents were strict on them and mature in front of them and didn't just tell them what to do, they would probably get mature faster. I heard from somewhere that the brain isn't fully developed until age 20. However, some are still immature at this age. I'm only 13, and I still act like a preteen or teenager.

A "child" grows up into what is called an "adult". Still the same person. In many ways still similar. People improve their ability to think at different rates. If you mean "adult" is "mature" in some important ways, then some people never become adults, and some people have adulthood even at 2.

At the age of 21, people are considered adults.
As to maturity, that can happen at a much younger age, but most often, at a far greater age.

I believe what you refereeing to is simply a label that people give you. Think about it, does the change actually happen and it something you can prove at X time? I believe what your talking about is when the people around you think they see that your mature (although you could really not be in your own mind) and they tell you that you are an adult.

Its all just a matter of opinion.

when they mature, basically, because how many adults have we seen that are about 50 or 60 and they behave as little kids, but then we see a 19 year old for example, and you say wow, he doesnt look as if he is 19 because he behaves as if he is 30. so it just depends on everyone, But mostle everyone should become adults at 18, thats the age for everyone, but some people are just ot in space... lol

Legally I guess its 18. But I'm 51 and immature in some ways . I would say I got close to adult at around 30.

I would have to say when they go through their right of passage. In many tribes today, you arn't considered an adult until you go on your "vision quest" or something of that nature. In the american society it can vary from college to your first real job, etc
