Try to sit nearer the front. For some reason the weirdos sit near the back. Take some snacks with you because you often dont have time to buy food. Take a book or two or an Ipod. I wore a fannypack which i put my important documents, money etc in so I could sleep with it on my person. Try to sit near the window so that you can turn the fannypack away from the person sitting next to you. Take a blanket or throw...those buses are freezing at night especially. Take a lot of change...many bus stations only have vending machines for food and drinks. Dont take anything in your carry on bag that you would hate to lose..pack it in your suitcase so it will go in the belly of the bus and nobody can go through it while you are out of the bus. If you have any problems tell the driver straight away. Have a good trip but be aware of your surroundings and when your trip is over make your way out of the bus station as soon as you can. Very weird people hang out at bus stations. Good luck!

I've ridden grey hound busses way to much. I only ever did 6 hrs with my daughter. It was pretty bad. I've done 52 hrs alone. It really sucked. I don't think there is a sink in the bathroom, it's like a portapotty. Take a jug of water or several bottles of water. Also take a changing pad. You will need to change her either in the seat or on the floor of the bus, don't even think about changing her in the bathroom, ew... They will stop every few (3-4) hrs to refuel and let people get off the bus and stretch their legs. A lot of times these stops will either be at other bus stops or gas stations. Make sure to fill up your water bottles if you are running low, use the restroom, change the baby, and eat or grab food if you're not hungry. Take extra clothes for you and the baby. 2 shirts and 2 pairs of pants for you and 3 shirts for baby and 2 pairs of pants. Place them in your carry on luggage in case you get puked on by the baby. Get there early so you can try to get a good seat on the bus. They are not assigned. Next time, take amtrak.

Geesh yes, spend the extra 200 bucks and buy a plane ticket. Price a plane ticket at the least. I did the whole bus thing. Wanted to see the states and all. My back never bothered me before but has since. I smelled when i got off the bus. I was sick at the thought of having to ride back... Take some dramamine. Bring one of those crazy pillows with the little beads in them. Youll mostly get a seat alone. If someone comes and starts to sit by you give them a mean look to ward em off. If theyres other seats available and its obvious that is. Theyre going to ask for money or try and F you over some way. Bring a book, bring games, bring snacks, drinks, and loratabs.
