Learn how to use Windows Explorer. Look in the Programs section of your START menu and go through the Accessories folder.

You can also RIGHT CLICK on my computer and pick EXPLORE.

If this is confusing to you, I recommend that you take some basic computer classes.

Good luck and happy computing.

1.Close all open software.
2.Select Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup.
3.Place a check next to the types of files you want the Disk 4.Cleanup utility to delete. Temporary files are safe to delete.
5.Select OK.

If you are having HP or Compaq system The system has two partitions, C: and the Recovery partition. The Recovery partition is not user accessible. The system will automatically update the recovery partition information. Since the recovery partition size is kept minimum, the system will automatically report the "Low disk space" pop-up when the disk space went minimum. This is a built-in feature of Windows XP.

You can stop the pop-up window by disabling the low disk space
warning option in Windows XP. But this will not cause any adverse
effect to the system and the Recovery Partition also will not get
affected. This is a work around.

Perform the following steps to disable low disk space warning.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

4. Type NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and then press ENTER.

5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.

6. Type 1, and then click OK.

7. Restart the computer.

This should resolve the issue.

You can also disable the message by installing the following fix:

I understand that you are referring to the Recovery Partition (D:).

In some computer like HP and Dell (not sure)....there is a partion called Recovery partition that is D: drive. This D: drive has the files that are used to Perform recovery.

You can't access these files.

About the desktop clean up:
----------------------------------

If you are referring to the desktop clean :

1. Open Display in Control Panel.
2. On the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop.
3. Under Desktop cleanup, click Clean Desktop Now.
4. Follow the directions in the Desktop Cleanup Wizard.

Note

• To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.

• The Desktop Cleanup Wizard displays a list of the desktop icons that have not been used for 60 days or more, enabling you to remove those icons that you don't want on your desktop. You can retrieve icons you have removed by opening the Unused Desktop Shortcuts folder on your desktop.

• Clear the Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days check box if you don't want the wizard to run automatically every two months.

• You can remove an individual desktop icon by right-clicking the icon and then clicking Delete.

• To add or remove the icons for My Documents, My Computer, My Network Places, or Internet Explorer, select or clear those items under Desktop icons.
