yeah. The baby drops into the pelvis and pushes against the cervix, this creates the illusion of a lower belly bulge.

Although some women naturally carry their babies low.

Generally, just before birth baby descends as far down as possible. Your belly doesn't drop but baby's position changes and the biggest part of your bump is lower down. You may find you will breathe easier too.

Yes, you usually "drop" as the baby moves down to the birth canal. People said they could notice when I dropped, but I couldn't. I carried my son exteremly low my entire pregnancy anyway. So yes, you tend to drop about 2 weeks or so before labor.

it isnt a drastic drop... but it does drop some... the belly looks a little different when the baby drops.. it look more like the shape of a pear when before it looked more like a beach ball...
but i never noticed it with mine... other people noticed it... now when i look at pictures of me when i was pregnant i can tell the difference, but during that time all i noticed was how uncomfortable i was.

Sometimes, depending on first or second or more child - will drop prior to labour or even when in labour.
Its no concern if you are worried, thus the people who comment - oh - you've dropped!
