Neither one is overall better......Chevy diesals suck, powerstrokes are awesome. Ford trucks are faster stock, but silvys ride a lot better and get better gas mileage. Theres pros and cons to both, but my Silverado has 220.000 miles and the engines still strong enough to run with gts, Z28s and some older cobras, and my last one has over 300,000 miles on it with no issues and never rebuilt. That says a lot there!
Ive never seen a ford with that many miles. Anyone else?

Ford and Chevy are both extremly well-bulit and nice cars. They are about equal in quility with their cars and trucks. The new Ford Fusions are excellent (the 2007 is a bit better than the 2006) and the F-150 is a great seller. Chevrolet has a great Malibu out now with great features. I would certainly recomond it. Chevy has the Silverado which may be a little better than the F-150 in my opinion. However I think that the Mustang is better than the Corvette.

Ford or Chevy? There is no direct answer.

CHEVY!!! Last year Toyota had the most recalls, but the media "failed" to notice since millions would stand against them because of thier reputation. These days reputation is nothing, technology advances so fast it cant keep up. For ex: three years ago GM was one of the worst companies, now they have the most top-rated vehicles, and the quality/reliability surpasses Toyota. Honda is still on top of the reliability ratings. Ford also had more recalls than GM and DaimlerChrysler combined, for reasons like exploding engines and wheels falling off. Here is a quote from the Washington Posts review of the Toyota CAmry "one of which is the Chevrolet Malibu, which in my real-world driving experience has been every bit as good and reliable as the much-ballyhooed Camry but has been maligned primarily because it is a Chevrolet". Oddly enough that was an '04 Malibu VS the totally redisigned '07 Camry. Common problems with Toyotas are plastic rattling until it falls off. People then complain that when they take it to the dealer to be fixed they just say "The cars are made with so much plastic its practically impossible to fix" GM is also the worlds fastest growing manufacturer, and that dosent happen by accident.

This question depends on several factors,
1. older or newer vehicle
2. are you going to "ROD IT" (fix it up to go fast and sound good)
3. fix it up to show
4. your personal likes

If it is a older or classic car or truck, a Chevrolet will be your best bet, for the amount of money you will spend you can buy almost twice as many upgrade parts for a Chevy than you can for a Ford. And there are more upgrade preformance parts and cosmetic parts avaliable for the Chevy.

but ultimately it's your decision

It depends on which range of models you are looking at - when it comes to economy/compact cars, the FORD FOCUS >>>> 100 times better than CHEVY AVEO/COBALT. When it comes to trucks, Chevy trucks are better than the F-150s

Chevy for sure. I'd have to agree with Antonio G. on most of what he's said.
As far as mustangs, they are overrated and so are F-150's. A 1500, corvette, or cavalier are much better IMO than their ford counterparts.
