I want to buy some magazines to cut up and use the letters to spell stuff, and I want lots of cool/ interesting pictures. I'm 17 years old by the way, so Better Homes & Gardens, isn't what I'm looking for.

Why not go to a place that sells magazines, and look through a few to see what you want. You'll see what is available that way, and can better make a choice. I don't know what your definition of "cool/interesting" is for this, and I'm far from 17, so I don't know what is even out there for your age group.
Sounds like a really fun project though! Scrapbooking is a very big thing now, so you will find some neat papers and other things in the hobby section at stores, too! Have fun doing this!
