I assume you mean cloning for the growth of an entire human being, not cloning for parts; i.e, heart, lungs, eyes, etc.

Well, you know years ago people freaked out about so-called "test tube babies," saying it went against nature, god, and all sort of things. People said it would be the end of male/female relationships. They said it would make MEN obsolete. They said many, many stupid things. Here we are and in vitro fertilization is a common and valuable procedure for couples experiencing infertility problems.

I work in women's health. I truly believe "Human Cloning" will simply be another choice for couples with infertility problems. How nice would it be for a couple to be able to clone one of themselves in a situation where either the female has no eggs or the male has no sperm. In these situations a couple can only have a child that is PARTLY a stranger's DNA. That sometimes leaves one of the parents feeling left out. Also, the conceived child has NO INFORMATION pertaining to the donor DNA.

I think it would be great. It may also reduce the number of multiple gestations so common with in vitro, which has many, many complications.

I also have to address another issue: A cloned baby would be EXACTLY like a TWIN of the person being cloned. Genetically, it is no different. Nothing freaky about that.

Cloning can cause loads of issues.... for example, if one of them (the clone or the actual person) did something back, like broke the law or murdered someone, there would be no way of finding out which one really did it, because they would have the same exact DNA. Also imagine how the clone would feel, knowing that they are just a copy of someone else. They probably wont ever clone anyone b/c of the major issues it could cause.

human clones already exist. they're called identical twins. (and they're far more alike than any fake clones, because they would share womb, same childhood experiences, same home growing up, etc...)

the real danger if cloning takes off is that women may realize that they don't men for anything and I've seen enough sci-fi movies to know it could lead to big problems.

I think they should clone only the best people that have good hearts so that our world would be a more peaceful and better place.

I dont agree with it, can you imagine how a cloned person would feel knowing that there are some copy of him or her wandering out there, probably a younger copy. Or how the clon itself would feel, knowing that he wasnt created in a normal way?
I think it's crazy.

Clearly, it sends civillized man reeling. Like, you can be remade, by using a strand of your DNA. Not really dull, and yet so terrifying, the unique you is no more unique then the strand DNA molecule that is you, that all science double helix that made you and can make you.

It's unnecessary and the energy and $$ should be focused on things like curing cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc.
