Ok, the printer is USB and connected to the desktop computer. I am also using an ADSL wireless router which connects my notebook (via wifi) and RJ45 to my desktop. I would to know how to share data between my desktop and my notebook and how to share the printer between the two computers.
Please help.

You might be able to enable printer sharing on your desktop and then share the printer and then add that printer on the laptop as a network printer.

On your laptop, go to printers, assuming you're using XP...and install printer. It will give you the option to browse for your printer on your network and then automatically install. Tick the box that says 'share this printer on the network'. Should be easy enough.

You will need to setup a Network (not hard) this is done via your router.
Start > Settings >Control Panel > Network Setup Wizard and follow the on screen instructions.
