So basically everyone has said what he is most known for. Personally, The Third Man is a fantastic film in which he utilized his talents as best as he could.
If you're not familiar with actor Joseph Cotton, I really recommend this one- it is such a classy classic.

Well, Citizen Kane is the # 1 film according to the American Film Institute and The Third Man is #1 with the British Film Institute. If you check the IMDB, Citizen Kane is #21 and The Third Man #46--both were excellent movies. Orson Welles was certainly a genius at whatever he did.

I never read/saw Citizen Kane, but War of the Worlds was realistic enough at the time to scare the world. Made into a movie in 2 different generations. Still cool!

No question it was Citizen Kane. The intriguing question of who, or what, was "Rosebud?" Finally we learn it was his sled. However, Orson Welles was also well known for his Shakespearean rolls.

F for Fake.(1974). Based around his magician skills, this is a strange, teasing film about the veracity of the film medium.
