I need to restart the whole thing, like delete everything, and make it new like coming out of the box. I called DELL customer support, but they said that they don't support Windows ME anymore. So, is there any way that I can do it without a CD?

I have the CD that will reinstall Windows ME, but I just don't know how to delete everything (programs, files, etc.) off of here, and I mean EVERYTHING.

You won't be able to do it without a CD and if you do it, you will have to go with the newer XP. I know it sucks, but the only why to delete everything is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows. If you can find someone online, like at Ebay or Amazon, that has Windows ME, then you might could get it that way. But I would just say go with XP. ME is better, but you can't really trust that a copy you buy through Ebay will be valid.

But unless you are having a virus problem, I would just go and delete the programs you want off. Reformatting your hard drive wears out your PC faster. Of course, if you are having a serious problem, it's best to do it. I had to with mine when a virus ate it. Of course if you are just having problems with it being slow. Get AVG, it's a FREE virus program and Spybot, it's a FREE spyware program, and run those on your PC. They are awesome, and that will speed up you PC significantly. Also removing unwanted programs will help too.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

If you don't have your OS (Windows ME) on disk you cant format your HDD because you will loose the OS, so delete every thing that you have loaded then run a reg cleaner and a HDD cleaner an Anti Virus and a spy ware cleaner ( get your system right down to just the OS a good clean and then load only what you need.

if it is a newer Dell Pc then you can do a complete system restore {it will take it to its factory setting just as if you just took it out of the box}.... restart your pc when the windows emblem comes up hit "ctrl then F11" then release them at the same time.
you will have to rename your pc and everything and start as if it was brand new. i did it to my hubby's laptop last week. hope this helps....

Spray paint it and give it some originality... and just tell everyone that it is new. Hint:Dont tell your friends it is new if you can not spray paint well. You know i have the best answer for this question and also i am hoping that you are not looking when you choose your best answer because here i am talking about nonsense hoping that you are not going to read it and htat your going to just pick the longest one... if you do read ti just pick me anyway because you know my answer is the most original and i took the time out to write it instead of these people writing one sentence.

I'll tell you what MO: nowadays computers are cheaper and cheaper...Heck, they practically give them away...So do yourself a favour and get yourself a good computer (not a Dell) with Windows XP!
As for your old one, do yourself another favour and put it in the trash can, will ya?
