continuous menstrual bleeding can be a sign of something or nothing serious. Since you continue to have your periods if i understand what you said after the age of forty you have not yet reached menopause. However, you need a full gyn workup. If your cycle just needs to be re regulated, that is a simple process. If, on the other hand, the bleeding is caused by a uterine abnormality like hyperplasia or a mass, you may need a d and c. either way, you need to go to the doctor sooner rather than later.. Good luck

If I was you I would go to the doctor and see why your period is lasting that long. I mean usually periods last around 3 - 7 days give or take some. I would definately see my doctor.

At 43, you should be close to menopause, so your period may be doing some wacky things right now. A normal period is supposed to come every 28 days, but for some girls/women, it's irregular (like myself), so it doesn't. But, you are supposed to get one every month, and it usually is supposed to last anywhere from 5-7 days, but I know some people who have one for 3 days, and that's normal for them.

There is a chance you are going through early menopause. Ask your doctor about birth control pills there is one that will keep you from having a period for three months at a time. good luck

It sounds like what I have - either a hormone imbalance or PCOS.

See your Gyn. The only way to fix it is with the Pill. I have been taking it for thirteen years now. I'm 44.
