To get wireless internet at home, you have to first purchase a router, which broadcasts the internet signal over your whole house. Next, you have to purchase a notebook card, which recieves the signal and connects you to the internet. This is put in the PC card slot. If you want wireless internet on the road, you will either have to go to a cafe with WiFi and the same notebook card, or get a card that picks up mobile internet, and subscribe to it for a fee.

well at home you can install wireless so that you can use your laptop without plugging it in and as for travel there are like cards that you can buy from phone companies that you put into your laptop and you get the internet. They're not cards they're like i don't know but they go in your laptop.

We use our LG Cell phones and Verizon to get on the internet when we are traveling. Works very well. Their Quick Net is free except for air minutes and of course you can just get on during your free time. The National Access they offer is $80 a month. A bit steep for us but it is much faster than their Quick Net.
