Yes, but he MUST hold a full motorcycle licence. That means NO 'L' plates, NO 'provisional' and it MUST be capable of over 50mph (which if unrestricted it will be).

However, it may just be that he is a little nervous about riding on the motorway. No reason really as they are Britains SAFEST type of road in 'accidents per mile'. Just can be a bit daunting getting buzzed by a 'rep' doing 110 whilst on his mobile & eating a sandwich...

Yes unless you are a learner.
I know a bloke rode a Honda 70 from Exeter to Gloucester but a 125 is too slow to be safe mixing it with 40 tonne lorries, it will be almost flat out in the slow lane and the possibility or a catestrophic engine failure cannot be ruled out.
There must be a non Motorway route if he really loves your daughter but wants to survive the journey.

You meany, have you seen the nutters on the motorways, I'm an experienced motorcycle rider and I certainly wouldn't take a 125 on those roads. You'll eat your words when the poor lad gets killed.

He can ride a 125cc machine on the motorway if he has a full bike license. He cant if he is still on L plates. Not that i envy him if he attempts it.I still remember a wagon wheel making contact with my shoulder when my mate took me to work one morning.
I was pillion on the back of his 250cc MZ. Kindof interesting!

Only a moron would drive a 125cc motorbike at highway speeds. It is extremely dangerous as at those speeds such a small bike would have no 'reserve' power for emergency acceleration, say to avoid an accident. Such a bike is not designed for that sort of abuse.

Engines under 49cc and learner riders/drivers are not allowed on motorways

It may be the provisional licence rather than the engine size preventing him from visiting, are there no A/B roads he could use?

Yes, it's only bikes below 50cc that are banned, although the A roads would be less boring on a 125cc.

as long as he's passed his test(has full licence) he can ride on the motorway on a 125cc motorbike, minimum is 50cc.
