The egg I would say. Actually this simplification doesn't stand up.
The answer is neither and both. If you look at fossil records, eggs existed all of the way back and when did a chicken actually become a chicken?
Ask yourself. Did a chicken become a chicken, when a dinosaur gained feathers or when it lost its teeth and grew a beak? and is that why most amphibians taste like chicken and lay eggs?

The Chiken: My theroy is because God created Adam, and Eve came from his rib, but he did not create babies at first. Also the chicken probably evovled from something so it ws not a chicken but another kind of bird.
