I talk to my baby all the time. and i wonder if it can really hear me. I am 6 months pregnant. And then the other day i went out and bought some lulliaby cd's. And some baby einstien cd's. and i put it in a cd play and put the head fones to my belly. and my baby just kept kicking away. And everytime i do this it kicks like crazy. Does it really hear the music? I was joking with my husband and told him it was dancing.

yes it is actually very good what you are doing for your baby. the baby will also learn your voice and be soothed by it when it is born. keep doing what you are doing, babies LOVE music!!

Absolutely. I went to countless concerts when I was pregnant (even at 7 and 8 months - we had back stage passes). I listened to only 2 CDs the whole time I was pregnant, and to this day, my child falls asleep when we play PUNK ROCK. When she was 2, she even fell asleep watching a live concert from back stage (and it wasn't time for a nap!).

Another example - - that child grew to know the sound of her father's voice, so much so that when she had colic all he had to do was say "hey", just as he did when she was in my womb - and she would stop crying (briefly, ha ha). My second baby could not recognize its father because he never talked to my tummy when I was pregnant again.

Congrats in your new child! I am 20 weeks pregnant too. The fetus can listen your heartbeat and voice beginning from round 18 weeks. I consider he (she?) can already listen your son's voice through now. (my child talks to my stomach too!) Congrats once more!!!

Yes they can hear you! It's just not very clear. It's very "muffled" of course because they are surrounded by amniotic fluid and everything. They can hear mom's voice best but they can definitely hear other sounds/voices. Congrats on the pregnancy :-)
