Depends where you live really. In England if they call a boy a Jesse it means he is effeminate ( a girly boy). And Tamara is a bit too close to tomato if you ask me...but then you did.

I like them both and as a Tamara myself, I can tell you that most people really like my name.
Only one drawback---everyone pronounces it differently and I have heard many variations. I just answer to all of them. :)
