you have to write to your MP and recommend a change, they then present it to the houses of commons and then to the house of lords, then it goes back to the commons for any amendments. Then the bill is goes back to the lords, if they agree on it the law is passed.
This process can take a couple of days (if necessary for example the terror bill) or years.

1. Talk with your MP (you can make an appointment to meet them at the Houses of Parliament - or wait until they have a local clinic).
2. Find groups that want the same change and work with them to raise the profile of the issue.
It's hard to get laws changed, because there is little time in parliament, and a lot of work that has to be done.
