HCO3 is an ion, and should actually be written as HCO3-
the CO3 is 2-, and the H is 1+

The oxidation state of hydrogen is alwyz +1 unless it is in a hydride. So the answer is +1

WEll, it's either hydrogen or helium, probably hydrogen, like H2O is 2 particles of hydrogen, 1 of oxygen
