Enemas are safe because the pressure of the water is so minimal. If you're in the midst of a brief, mild cleanse (two weeks or less) you can do it up to two times a day to help the cleanse along. If not, a couple times a week at most. And if you need it that often, there are likely some imbalances in play that should be addressed instead.
Enemas can wash away some of your "friendly intestinal flora" (ie acidophilus) and electrolytes along with waste matter. So always rebuild these essential substances after doing enemas for any length of time by taking supplements.
I've personally not heard of using vinegar in an enema, though I have heard of vinegar in a douche solution. That doesn't mean I recommend it.
Common things to use as an enema solution are: saline solution (sold pre-packaged in pharmacies), wheat grass (use a couple ounces and let it stay up there for a while before "purging" it, coffee (if you try this, use organic coffee and make absolutely sure you replace your acidophilus because coffee kills friendly flora whether you drink it or put it in an enema in addition to what's simply washed out) and essential oils such as basil. If you choose to use essential oils, please be sure they are therapeutic-grade.
I hope this helps!

It doesn't matter how you get the water or oil into your colon. What matter is how much and how fast it get in. Start slow with warm water or oil. Lay on your back to allow the fluid to enter easily. At the first sign of restriction, let it out. Start again. Keep doing this until nothing but water or oil comes out. You can tell when it gets to the descending side of the colon. It gets warm over there. Flush it all out.
Use an enema once a month for severe conditions, like diverticulitus. Using an enema too often robs the colon of minerals.
After the enema you will feel slightly fatigues. Lay down for a while.
Some people use coffee in the water.
Some use garlic.
Some use goldenseal.
Warm oil (olive oil) tends to loosen more in the colon than water. I use the water first and do a final flush with oil.

HI burdudget's answer is about right. I am a nurse and will tell you...DO NOT USE VINEGAR IN THE RECTAL REGION! Very unsafe, painful, and could cause harm. Water only. Over the counter enema's like Fleet work very well. Bag enema's are very old school so be careful!

A teaspoon or so of vinegar works in a douche. As for an enema no need. In hospitals they add a special type of liquid soap, but I would never recommend that. Warm water--not too hot (max 102 degrees).
Unless you are on a cleansing program, or using them for a sexual experience I would attack the issue from the other end by drinking pure cherry juice--tart or sweet doesn't make a difference. It works like a charm for cleaning house.

bagged enemas are safe, but use them abut twice a month. Do not use vinegar in an enema, but its OK for a douche as a vagina composition is different than the bowel I know as I have had constipation problems most of my life. gastroenterologist can not find why I get constipated..

With enemas you can prevent the accumulation of constipated waste in the lower bowel but they don't clean out the 25 feet of intestines. Enemas are not meant to replace a healthy bowel movement and prolonged use will make the colon lazy because of the larger amount of water and the strain that sometimes is needed to hold the water in.
You may want to opt for an oral colon cleansing. Much easier and better results. Here's the website:

No, this is not risk-free. You run an particularly extreme threat of destroying the digital camera. And in case you won't be able to have adequate funds a $20 enclosure you won't be able to have adequate funds to swap your digital camera the two. Being an engineer i'm, have been I in the region you're in and easily would desire to not spend greater funds, i could desire the NON-SLIDER variety of bag over the slider form, because of the fact not having that piece of plastic getting in the way of sealing the bag could enable the bag to seal thoroughly. The slider is only there to make the bag trouble-free to open and close, to not improve its sealing skill.

Vinegar?! Ouch?
Water, yes, but vinegar? That doesn't sound healthy.
Don't use camomile, though. It can cause allergic reactions even if you don't react allergic to the tea!
Don't do it every day...but I'd ask a doctor, if the wikipedia doesn't help you enough ;)
