but stay with the same company can they lower your pay if the states minimum pay is lower than the one you came from?

like say i make 8.00 here in nj. i move to nc and just transfer my job will my pay be dropped? i make above the minimum wage here (7.17).or will my pay be changed?

the minimum wage should be universal throughout the US.

In a former job, my classification of work paid differently. In Virginia it paid $10/hr, in Florida $7.

Guess that is the difference in the work force.

The minimum wage is bsed on the Federal level.

Yes they can, talk to them about it before you move! Don't move to Indiana minimum wage is 5.15!! *sigh*
