Saxophone, that is. Does anyone know a sax recording so good that it makes you pause and listen? Need CD title, artist, and tune.

To give you an idea of the styles I like:

Best Cello: Ave Maria by Schubert
Best Violin: Ashokan Farewell by Jay Unger "The Best of Fiddle Fever" recording.

If there's another outstanding tune featuring another musical instrument, I'd love to hear about it.

There is lots of great sax in jazz. John Coltrane's "Naima" on Giant Steps sends me.

Take Five by Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond. Anything by Charlie Parker. I wish I knew all the classical saxophone recordings because there have been some that are absolutely mindblowing.

hmm the song "Don't Hate Me" by Porcupine Tree has an incredible flute solo, then an amazing saxophone solo.

also the song "AntiGravity Love Song" by Incubus has a nice saxophone solo.
