How do you set up a wireless usb adapter plug for dsl, if you are setting up another computer to your network?

i have a laptop that is hooked up to a DSL modem / router / wireless access point combo. i purchased a usb adapter plug for a desktop comp. i tried using a sbcyahoo dsl cd setup on my desktop comp. to connect it, but it required having a modem / router / wireless access point combo to plug into a wall. what is the windows client? thx

windows client means if u going to set up a wireles computer the other comp must have something protecting it meaning check the other comp to see if it is conected to the internet if not the other comp u trying to set up wont work orrrrrrr just unplug the router and wait for a min then plug it back now if that doesnt work check ur ur comp and the other one too or the router u set up is not working properly just go to control panel and go to network set up wizard. orrrrrrrrr if u see at the bottom of the screen where the clock is, u will a tiny monitor trying to connect click on that with the right mouse button and a small screen will pop up saying disable ,status ,repair after u see that highlight repair and wait if that doesnt work check ur router and the connection for the internet

u already have a wireless dsl router, now u bought a usb adapter, u need to use the CD that comes with the usb adapter and install the deriver n utility.

after which u will need to connect to ur wireless network (ur wireless dsl router). for more information, u should contact the wireless router tech support (assume is the same brand),they will be able to guide u on how to setup the usb adapter to join ur wireless network.

using the sbcyahoo dsl cd cannot work.... as this cd is good for direct connection to the internet via the initial dsl modem. :D hope it helps.

well on the desktop when u install the usb adapter it will ask for passphrase and wep/wpa key, this is the same details u used on the laptop and the details that are stored in the router.
and that will allow the desktop internet access.
