All female guppies have a gravid spot, the dark spot, but if it looks like it is getting bigger or if you can see the babies then yes it is pregnant. They give birth around 28 days after becoming pregnant. If you get your new tank before she has them then set it up and put her in there to give birth if you want to keep them, have lots of plants for the babies to hide too. A female can get pregnant up to 6 times with only 1 encounter with a male, not for the rest of its life. If you want to learn a little more about them then check this site out, http://www.guppies.com/

To really be sure feed her frozen brine shrimp, black worms and freeze dried worms. That good food will encourage her to realease the babies. There will be about 12-30 babies and soem may even still be eggs or already dead. This may occur again a month or so later because she can store the eggs inside for months at a time and release them under the right conditions. Set the aquariun temperature at 78-82 degrees. Use only a sponge filter so no babies get sucked up in th epower filter. Uusually you can tell if she is really pregnant because she will be plump, and do 20% water changes every day instead of every week to encourage her along. This will help us e eif shes pregnant and how far along.

if it has a black triangle at the base of it's stomach it is pregnant, the mother eats its own children so you should buy a birthing tank, this is a small rectangular tank that floats on the surface of your aquarium ,the mother is in the top half and when she gives birth the newborn swim down into the bottom half, when they are big enough let them out but make sure you have a lot of plants in the tank so they can hide from the other fish which will eat them.

i had a guppy that was 6 years ol;d when it died (i know unbelieveable right) i was pregnate for the whole six years. I do know they eat their children so keep them seperated. The reason my guppy never had babies is because she would kill every other fish that lived with it. But to the point yes it is pregnate.
