There's a choir I used to be in,but I left a few months ago.. I left it because I really hated putting the extra time towards it,I also didn't like the religious side of it.
I saw a group of them from the choir and I said I would go back...
but I really don't want to. Now that I've said that they're expecting me to go back. I don't want to be classified as a lier,it really wasn't deliberate. What should I do? (No jokes please, its kinda serious!!) :[

What is so wrong with telling them the truth of it, but being nice about how you phrase it? If you don't want to be a liar, then don't. There is nothing bad about the reasons you've given, and telling them that you didn't mean to lie to them before but were afraid you might hurt their feelings, or that you just got caught up in the moment, well, that's understandable.

Go along once and say that you are really sorry, and upset but this will be the last time you will sing with them due to lack of time, come up with something, like, it's this time of the week that you see nan, and you really want to see her again an more often, or something like that, be honest with them even, say you are too busy!

just tell them that you've decided to join a different choir or that you're busy right now && haven't had the chance to put the time or effort in to be in the choir. or last, you could even tell them that you're not really interested in being in the choir && you just didn't want to let them down. tell them how you really feel. hope i helped!

Well why did you say you would go back then? I think you should go for a couple of times and then tell them that due to other commitments you now have you are no longer able to attend and that you wish them look and will come to see there christmas concert blar blar blar and so on!

"I know I just said I would come back, but i left because of the time it took and I've looked at my schedule and nothing has really changed—so I can't come back now. Maybe down the road it will be possible for me. Sorry."

Just be honest, say that you were nervous when you said that you'd go back, and off the cuff you said yes. You might also add that you feel that now its time for you to develope other interests in your life -and that you are sorry if you mislead them to believing otherwise, earlier.

Just say, I have another commitmant at that time which you can't get ot of and find somehthing if you feel guilty! Wish there was a choir that practices 'HIM' songs instead of Hyms!

you just need to be honest love, talk to the main one and ask them to explain to the others that your heart really isn't in it, also, if you don't like the religious side of it you should question why you allow yourself to be forced into attending mass, it's hypocrisy, stop going to mass until you decide what is right for you.

You could go back once, that way you would not be a liar, though quite honestly, why are you letting people force you to do something that you don't want to do. It is your life, do what pleases you. Good luck.
