fiber glass repair (kind they use for boats is what I used) ask them at the hardware store they know

Get some fiberglass repair (like the stuff you use on autos). Follow the direction and it will work fine for you. It is water proof. It can be used on anything made of fiberglass or metal. You can get it at your local discount store or auto parts store. A body shop may let you have enough also.

Yes, but most of the supposed experts don't know how to do it right. I am the world's foremost FRP expert.
Fiberglass bathtubs do not use woven fiberglass so they get cracked or have holes poked through them very easily.
I wrote a paper on this subject.

your tub is probably not plastic, but fiberglass. Most hardware stores sell fiberglass repair kits that are very simple to use. Your hole looks like it will be easy to repair with one of these kits
