There is a theory that at conception when the female egg is fertilized by the male sperm this creates a spark, a sort of spark of creation. This spark resonates a creative blueprint of the combined male and female energy and puts out a call into the ethers for a compatible soul to inhabit and power this newly created physical life. The new life can continue to form and grow through the power of the male/female union without an inhabiting soul for one trimester at which time if no soul is attraced or has answered the call the pregnancy can't continue and terminates through a miscarraige. The soul can be newly created or an older soul that has lived previous lives in one form or another. The call that is emited by the newly created physical life can be compared to ringing a spiritual bell or dialing a number or matching a chemistry or a specific code created by the union and so on and so forth. The call is usually answered without much delay but can take up to the critical time. The newly created or old soul that is attracted to inhabit the new physical body must choose to remain, join and become as one with the energy and power of the combined male/female union and new physical body until the pregnancy goes to full term and a birth takes place. It works the same for all forms of life and according to the theory you are here because you chose to be. You chose to answer the call and nobody forced this life upon you, not even "God". You made the choice to remain and be born as a human being into your own little world, so make the best of it and just live with it. Maybe you can be a drop of rain the next time around?

Find a drop of rain that might wish it could be human,
then you could trade places.

That's pretty profound.
John Keats once wrote something to the effect of:-
"Life is but a day, a fragile dew-drop on its perilous way from a tree's summit..."
I think it was a really beautiful thing to say you wish you could be a drop of rain. Fragile, lucent, falling free, open to fate.
Not may things "touch me" here, but that did. I hope you are a poet.

You were born a human, because this is a test for you. Live right, be of right character, and when you die, you might be reincarnated as a drop of rain splattering somewhere in Tibet.

You are who you are because you are human. In other words, the 'I' of which you speak owes its existence to your humanity. In another form, you would be something else. As a drop of rain, I doubt you would be conscious of anything at all. I'm not even sure it would even make sense to speak of that drop of rain as being 'you'.

Well depending "where in the world" you live, you are more likely a number or "just a drop in humanity".
So be thankful that you are a human. You have the cognitive ability to question "life" at all.

what do you expect to be born of? an Ape?
A drop of rain? you've got to be kidding me. In that case, I wish that I could be a septic tank.

My apologies for being born a human. Ah well, we all have our faults.
Still, humans can be clever creatures when they want to be, and may yet figure out how to evolve into something better....
