I do have one and I love it. It's so much better than having to take a rectal everytime I think baby is warm. Of course, if it says the baby has a temp I do take the rectal because it's more accurate, but I have found the scanning thermometer to only be off by a 1/2 degree most times. I was just curious if anyone else uses one of these.

we didn't have them when my children were babies. But I took care of my nieces and nephew. And they were out then. I used them all the time and loved them. It was so much easier for the kids and for me. Like you, when it showed a temp, I double checked with the rectal thermometer when they were infants, just to be on the safe side. But when they got older (toddlers), I didn't use the rectal thermometer but still double checked with the regular thermometer under the arm. I always found the forehead scanner to be quit accurate.

I use to work in a triage center that used that type of thermometer. The nurses there said that is the most accurate one out there. I don't have one I use the ear type and get good readings on it. Good luck!
