I am thinking of getting a Dumpy. My fire belly died not long ago and I need a replacement. Of course I washed out the tank, but will a 5 gallon be big enough for ONE frog? Also, I know I need to spray down the tank each day, but will I need a special light and heater. My mom won't spend a ton of money.

Well, my dumpy frogs all did well with one light and a good spraying everyday. Dumpies dont like to get too hot or too cold. Provide some warmth with a mild light and a place to escape the warmth if it wants too. Mildly warm moisture is the key!!! A small light will not cost very much at all. Tip.......when you hold your new dumpy frog stay close to something underneath so he doesnt fall very far when he jumps. Their little bones break easily. I think the dumpies are the best, because they have such comical little smiles on their faces.

I had a Dumpy frog before. make sure you have the tank warm enough because mine died (I think he got too cold)

I actually have a Chubby frog at the moment and the cool thing about a chubby is they are very docile and dont jump. My whites dumpy jumped around a lot and was difficult to hold but the chubby I have now will sit in my hand with no problem, and he doesnt make noise.

good luck! pet frogs are the best..
