It depends on how you want to do it, and if you want to leave a message. Carbon manoxide will give you a headache until you pass out. Blowing your head off is quick and painless but its kinda over done. I personally would strap on a leather belt around my waist, run the belt through two cinder blocks, ( one on each side of my waste). then get about nine feet of steel chord and tie one end around my neck making sure to lock it with a master lock. Then loop the other end around the guard rail of a bridge making sure to lock it with a master lock. Then use zipties to zip your thumbs together behind your back (( just so you dont chicken out )). Then JUMP!!! The weight of your body, with the combination of the two cinderblocks will pull the steel chord so tight it will pop your head off and you will feed the fish, and leave a neat story for the news crew. EVERYBODY WINS!!!

I have had this discussion with friends: "Either you have to kill yourself, or everyone on Earth dies. How do you do it?" My friend Mark said he would jump off a skyscraper and do flips. That sounds fun but terrifying at the end. My friend Kevin said he'd take pills - nice and painless. For myself, I can't decide. I know I wouldn't want to drown or burn to death. I think if I shot myself, there would be a millisecond of terror between pulling the trigger and death. I just don't want my last moments of life in pain or terror. Maybe freezing to death would be ok.

Heh that's morbid.
I'd throw myself off of a building - a tall building. At least that way, for a few seconds, I would know the sensation of a free-fall, but the finality of knowing I wasn't going to be saved by a bungee cord

Marie S,
I hope this is just a inquisitive question and nothing else. The pain and shame I would cause my wife and children is just not comprehensible. Answering your question is to say that it could happen or that I have thought about it. So all I can say is, there is no way, I love my family to much.

get a pencil and put it halfway up your nose, then just push as hard and quickly as you can with the palm of your hand with the bottom of the pencil and it will go up through the top of your nose and into your brain. If it works apparently it is quite quick and painless but sometimes it doesnt work and you live with brain damage.

something painless, and not messy,
Like poison while drinking.

Couldn't ever do it though, It would hurt the people I love to much,
but I've thought about it in the past.
