The use of animals in such sports as horse or dog racing, I don't find cruel. Because usually those animals are treated better than humans. However I think it is cruel and torturous to train your animals to fight. That is strictly for human entertainment and not for the benefit of the animal. (racing at least gets them exercising and socializing). Most people who raise their animals to fight abuse and neglect them, and once these animals are trained to be hostile towards other animals they cannot be adopted, they have to be euthanized if they are rescued.

It depends on which animal. I think that greyhound racing is extremely cruel, they race the poor dogs and even kill then sometimes if they do badly which is totally unjust. I think horse racing is kind of fun to watch, I don't know if it really hurts the horses, they were trained to race but I am not an expert on horse racing so I can't tell when the jockeys are pushing the horse too hard, which at that point they should give the horse a break. I don't know if pitbull fights are considered soprts, but that kind of activity is veyr cruel and can often leave dogs dead!!!

Depends on the "sport." Dog fighting is cruel. Rodeo, calf roping, Barrel racing, etc. Not cruel, it's a way of life that city slikers and PETA members can't stand. Dog racing not cruel. Greyhounds love to run, it's what they are bred for. Horse racing is what Thouroghbreds were bred for. Hunting is for man feeding himself and his dog. Just depends on how you look at it.
Bull riding isn't cruel, all they do is put a piece of rubber on their balls. The bull is fine. Those bulls are worth $50,000 or more, rodeos aren't gonna hurt them, they're worth too much. GET A LIFE AND LEARN MORE BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE A SPORT!

I am guessing your talking about cockfighting, hog dog rodeos etc.
Cockfighting is a "sport" in which natural spurs are often cut off and replaced by a gaff (knife.) Birds used in these fights are bred for their aggressiveness non aggressive birds are then killed. Drugs and illegal gambling are very common. Normally at least one bird is dead at the end of the match the "winner" is often injured and can die shortly after. Sometimes they are fought again till the animal doesn’t win. It’s very bloody and very cruel. Some will argue it is natural for them to fight but in the wild birds are rarely hurt and the looser runs off in a cockfight there is no place for a bird to get away, and birds that try are often killed. Cockfighting has been banned in all but two states New Mexico and Louisiana.
Hog dog rodeos, catch dog trials and baying competitions are when a pig or boar is put up against a pit-bull, Catahoula or such breeds. In all of these the tusk of the pig/boar is removed leaving the animal little to no defense. The dogs are normally fitted with protective body gear. In a catch trial it’s very much like a dog fight only with a pig as bait. The pig screams for his life and is often hurt or killed. There are videos online at the HSUS and other such sites. Baying competitions are alike in some ways only the dogs can't touch the hog. The problem with baying is the stress put upon the pig/boar. Dogs are sometimes hurt in these but more then often it’s the boars/pigs. Again illegal gambling and drugs can be a issue. Also children are often among the people watching which begs the question is it also child abuse to allow them to watch a animal bring torn apart? They are most common and in some cases the laws are thin on legality in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas. The "sport" stems for hog hunting and has likely been around for at least 25 years.
Bullfighting is a "sport" in which the bull is stabbed over and over till it falls to the ground. Horses are also animals that suffer in these events. Often the horses used are on there way to slaughter, injured, handicapped, or are to old to work it is not uncommon for several horses to be killed or horses needing to be put down after these.
Hunting with dogs is often a very cruel and dangerous past time for dogs and the hunted animals. Dogs can often be hurt or killed depending on what they are hunting. Dogs that do not or can not hunt are often killed. I have seen first hand the results of a deer being ripped apart by a pack of hunting dogs and it was hard to tell what it even was. Hunting of any kind can put people in danger as well I have been shot at on two occasions once my dog was killed. Again children are often apart of hunting at a very young and impressionable age.
Dog fighting is banned in the USA but still goes on till this day. Again drugs, gangs and other issues come into play and it’s a societal issue as well as a abuse/cruelty issue.
Horse racing is cruel in many respects. Horses are often raced before they are ready. Their bones may or may not be developed and it's rare that they can handle such stress. At age two most horses are just having a saddle placed on them for the first time. Horses that are not fast enough or don't want to race are often sent to slaughter.
Horseback riding can or can not be cruel. Some horses are treated very kindly others not kindly at all. It is not uncommon for horses that have worked their entire lives to be sent to slaughter or a bad enviroment when the can't work like they use to. Some training methods are very gentle and kind others can be very cruel. I have a horse now with two broken bones from a man that tried to train him before I got him.
Greyhound races are often cruel animals that can't or are unwilling to race are often killed. In some cases broken bones can show up and they take many months to socialize in a normal home setting is they are lucky enough to find a good home.
Now activities involving fly ball and agility can be very fun for animal and person if done in a safe fun environment there. I do not consider these cruel in proper settings. The others however are barbaric, and risk the lives as well as the well being of animals and humans.

I think that it depends on the sport.....for example if it is horse racing those people really take good care for their horses! But if it is such a thing as greyhound racing...now THAT is cruel, because all they do is get rid of the dogs when their racing days are over! So, I guess it really depends on what the sport is!

I stay interior the south and searching is a element of existence around right here, people easily bypass college and miss artwork on the hollow day of searching season. in my view i could in no way shoot an animal, yet i don't have a issue with searching. it particularly is a game that has been around as long as people have been around, and it particularly is a fabulous of passage for boys to men around right here. it particularly is no longer a blood game the animals are actually not subjected to beatings to lead them to meaner. they are shot in a manner that ought to kill them at latest and that they are eaten so its in comparison to they shoot them and depart them on the floor. there's a fabulous style of satisfaction and honor linked with searching additionally, its very actual and you ought to have wonderful administration to be quiet and nevertheless and not get overexcited. There are additionally a fabulous style of regulations that even the taking part in grounds for the animals. dogs and cock combating is malicious and a blood game. The animals are stored alive in atrocious situations till they are compelled to combat to there deaths. i in my view do no longer think of that the two evaluate.

don't get me started. in mexico they are so mean to bulls they shove there spurs in to there sides so they can hold both hands up in the air and their spurs are the only thing keeping them to the bull. and in horse raceing it so cruel you start to train a running horse from a year old and they just keep going and going until they brake a leg or get to slow to run.. and dogs they are use to fight for the there masters who beat them and chain them up to trees and leave themt here for weeks with out feeding them because they lost a fight.. horses are just now are being trained to fight eachother..for people pleaure.. so i hope this answer your question.. people are wrong but in the other cas.. some people are really nice to sport animals i have show jumped for years and other horse sports and but i treat my horses better than my mom or boyfriend.. they are taken care of every day even if i can't get out there to take care of them.. my friend will bring them up to talk care of them..

well it depends on what sport you are talking about.
horse racing- in horse racing i believe that it can be quite cruel because so many horses die because of it. but also it can be great fun for the horses becuase they love to run around, and they like to lead a herd.
dog racing- i don't really believe that dog racing is fun for the dogs. i don't beleive that they really like it.
i think bull riding is very mean!
and bear dancing ( in some counties) is just terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
overall i think that animals shouldn't really be used for sports. they don't have a say in it unlike us, so they shouldn't have to.
hope this helps you. good luck

It is cruel only if you are making the animal do something that they do not do naturally in the wild. Horses run in the wild, and they jump. If they are not mistreated, then it is not cruelty to the animal.
